Adam S4X-V Vertical Monitor (Single)

The ADAM S4X comes in two flavours,a horizontal version and a vertical version. Both have ADAMs unique transducers, newly designed amps,and sophisticated control options. The S4X studio monitors have been designed for medium size control rooms, but, with their massive power, the S4X are also capable of working in larger spaces. And because both S4X models have identical tweeters and mid-range drivers handling all frequencies above 350 Hz,any combination of either model will integrate perfectly into surround sound installations either 5.1 or 7.1.

The X-ART tweeter that ADAM has developed sets a new standard in tweeter technology. For this, ADAM Audio has specifically designed a new A/B power amplifier with ultra low distortion and an wide internal bandwidth of more than 1MHz. In combination with the X-ART tweeter, this guarantees an ultra fine resolution and perfect transparency.

New HexaConeA™-midranges and woofers handle both the mid and low frequencies. With their larger voice coils and stronger magnets they have longer linear excursion for higher SPLs without sacrificing their pleasant musicality and detail.

The S4X-H midfield monitor combines the X-ART tweeter with ADAM Audios unique A/B amplifier. The speaker also features a 5" HexaConeA™-midrange and two redeveloped 9" HexaConeA™-woofers. Each of the woofers and midrange drivers are driven by a 250 W ICE module.

The front panel

Six controls can be found on the new front panel. Input sensitivity is handled by two controls. One control allows for coarse settings (-20dB to +8dB), while the second is used for fine tuning in 0.5dB steps,ranging from -1.5dB to 2dB.
There are two controls for the lower frequencies. One is an equalizer at 80 Hz that boosts bass response sometimes desirable in popular music. The second is a shelf filter that allows the engineer to alter the frequencies below 150 Hz.
High frequencies can also be adjusted by two different controls. The first alters the high frequency volume (-2dB to +2dB), while the second is a shelf filter for frequencies above 6 kHz. Both the high and low shelf filters can raise or lower A±4 dB progressively within their frequency band.
