CRANE SONG Egret Summing System
The Crane Song Egert provides you with the means to create a rich and detailed stereo mix, with each channel featuring a level control,a cue send,a colour control, and a pan control, with each channels input selectable between its analog / digital source button. Standards such as mute and solo buttons are also included.
Outboard gear can be inserted on individual channels by utilizing the units balanced direct outputs and balanced analog inputs, allowing you to integrate all your favourite gear within your summing station. The units cue buss can also be used as an effects send, of whichs effects can be returned on the Egerts dedicated stereo return.
The master bus level control features a stepped attenuator, with 1 Db steps along the majority of its range. The massive benefits of a stepped attenuator include repeatability, accuracy and stereo gain matching to better than .05 db.
A handy headphone system allows a monitor mix to be created even when the Egert is being used in multi-channel location recording, perfect for keeping an ear on your incoming audio.
The high quality D/A converters resting within the Crane Song Egret support sample rates up to 192K and have sample rate converters on each
channel for input jitter reduction, with the ability to disable SRC for the situations where lower latency is required.
The standard interface supports AES single wire to 192KHz, ADAT,and S/MUX to 96K. Each channels converters can also be independently operated, even at different sample rates.
Expandability is always important for a mixer, even a summing mixer!!,and with a special cable Egrets bus can be used in combination with a Crane Song SPIDER as a way to sum additional analog inputs while working in a mix mode.
