The microphone gurus at AKG have just announced their fantastic new range of wireless microphone systems, the AKG WMS470!

Offering a whole new range of features that surpass its predecessor, the new AKG WMS470 range offers the advantages of the high-end WMS4500 electronics with the added usability of their entry level system.

With support of up to a whopping 48 wireless channels on multiple frequency bands, or 16 channels on a single band, the newly developed AKG SR 470 receiver makes life easy thanks to the automatic frequency setup function that takes the hassle out of setting up for a performance.  Also, to ensure you keep yourself out of trouble AKG have cleverly implemented a display that changes its backlighting colour to warn users of impending operation issues such as the battery running low, audio peaks or low RF signal strength.

The new range of HT470 high-end handheld transmitters, fitted with legendary D5 or C5 elements, are built to handle everything a performer will throw at it and deliver pristine audio time and time again.  Being equipped with infrared allows these transmitters to seamlessly communicate data from the receivers for instant setup and also provide the engineer with battery status information, a testament of AKG’s desire to make the once problematic task of setting up a wireless system for live performances, conferences or places of worship a thing of the past.

Like its predecessor, the new AKG WMS470 series are available in a variety of sets including Vocal Set with D5, Vocal Set with C5, Instrumental Set, Presenter Set and Sports Set to ensure you’re covered regardless of the application.

This new line from AKG will set a new standard in wireless audio technology delivering stadium-ready performance with crystal clear audio, and completely hassle-free.

The Audio Technica 700 Series Wireless systems offer the best value in multi-channel systems. So if you need lots of wireless microphones in the same location and are looking to save as much as possible then read on!

The 700 Series is available in several packages : Single Handheld, Presenter (Lavalier), Presenter Plus (Lavalier), Active (Headset), Guitar and Options.

Audio-Technica’s 700 Series wireless offers excellent features for the professional and amateur alike. The sound quality of the 700 series is at least as good as any system costing up to twice the price while the flexibility on offer is unrivalled in its class.

The 700 series is extremely easy to use – just dial up the required frequency on the transmitter and do the same for the receiver and it’s job done. You can then adjust Squelch settings if required. The 700 Systems features Audio Technica’s Tone Lock™ circuitry which improves signal stability to the very highest standards.

These easy-to-use wireless systems feature eight selectable frequency-coordinated channels, diversity operation for increased range/reliability, automatic frequency scanning, squelch and more.

The 700 Series is available on Channel 38 and on Channel 70 with 8 selectable frequencies within each Channel. However, it must be noted that new government regulations affect the use of wireless systems such that only 4 of the Channel 70 frequencies may be used legally and licence free in the UK. All 8 of the frequencies within Channel 70 are legal in the UK however their use does require a licence which can be purchased from http://www.jfmg.co.uk/

This does mean however that you can run up 12 simultaneous channels in the same location using a mix of 4 Channel 70 systems and 8 Channel 38 systems. And at the price of the ATW 700 Series this is excellent value indeed!

The single handheld system features a unidirectional dynamic microphone which offers approximately 12 hours of use with Two 1.5V AA Batteries. The microhone has pleasant clear response and is ideal vocal performance and speech.

The Presenter Plus system features a far better lavalier microphone in the Pro 92. This is a highly sensitive condenser microphone which is optimised for vocal articulation and speech. Whereas the standard presenter system features a dynamic microphone which although excellent for the price – will not deliver as good results as the Presenter Plus system.

The lavalier and headset systems use the T701 belt-pack transmitter which again uses 2 x 1.2v AA batteries lasting for appx 8 hours of use. The lavalier or headset microphones plug in to the T701 belt-pack transmitter via a supplied special mini connector. The guitar system is supplied with a special cable that allows the guitar to be plugged into the transmitter.
